Nursery Practitioner
We are looking for a passionate practitioner to join our team
Little Gems Montessori focusses on each child as an individual with teachers providing unique targets and encouraging independent learning. All teachers are required to provide a safe, calm and nurturing enviroment for the children. We have spaces for 35 children within our 2 rooms. Opening time Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm, 38 weeks of the year. We are looking for a full time teacher working 8.30am-4.30pm Monday-Friday.
About the Role
• Key worker to plan, create, and implement engaging activities for children aged 18 months to 5 years.
• Keep a record of children’s progress and reflect on learning practices using Tapestry journals.
• Communicate to develop and maintain strong parent/carer partnerships.
• Maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, and hygiene, as well as following all child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
• Provide support to other nursery staff members and work collaboratively with them.
About You
• Level 3 childcare qualification or above, Montessori qualification preferable but not essential.
• Previous experience implementing good quality learning opportunities, ideally within a preschool environment.
• Enthusiasm for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
• Ability to use a variety of techniques to clearly and successfully communicate with both children and adults.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the Early Years Framework.
Little Gems Montessori is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children & young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, as all new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Salary: £14-£16.00 per hour
